17 Week

We are at 17 weeks now, that would be 43% of the way to having a baby! The weeks really are going by so fast now- I am working a little more now and I have really gotten myself into a schedule, which I think helps a lot. Sleep has improved a lot, which means that I dont want to throw my head against a wall just for a deep sleep. Not that I would have ever done that- pregnancy has made me realize that I don't DO pain. I am totally screwed in about 5 months.

On to my growing Baby. This week Baby is the size of an Onion- 5 inches from head to bottom and 5 ounces. Ready for the fun details?-- Baby can her joints, and with all that joint movement it is a good thing her sweat glands are beginning to develop. The Baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage into bone. Body fat is beginning to accumulate (for the baby) even in the last week Baby gained 1.5 ounces. Baby is definitely listening now- hearing a loud noise like a doorbell or dog barking will even startle the baby- BUT it will also help baby get used to loud daily noises.

Today when my Mom gets home we are going to go to Babies R Us and pick up my crib!!! Jason will be putting it together for me sometime next week. I have a plan in my head for how I want my room set up so with a little moving around we can get things into place. Very exciting-- well very exciting considering I am setting up a room in my parents basement for my baby and I. *sigh* haha BABY!

AND today my best friend is getting her 3D/4D Sonogram.. I can't wait to see little Baby Ryan Kennedy Velasco :)
