Baby is now the size of an avocado- 4 1/2 inches and 3.5 ounces. In the next few weeks baby is going to go through a growth spurt and double in weight along with growing a few inches. Baby's legs are more developed, her head is more erect than it has been, eyes have moved closer to the front of his head, the ears are almost moved to their final position, patterning of the scalp has begun, toenails are starting to grow, the heart is pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day and that will increase as the baby continues to grow. Smaller but equally fun details include that the baby's eyebrows, eyelashes, and hair are filling in taste buds are forming AND tiny bones are forming inside of the baby's ear which mean that the baby can hear MY voice. That means I can start reading to the baby... yea I am going to read to my Baby in the womb- its proven beneficial. Baby and Mommy time. We can also invest in headphone decorations for my growing belly. Starting this week I may feel the baby moving, but it is more likely to happen between 18 and 22 weeks. Cross your fingers for sooner :)
The petting zoo was tons of fun; I cant believe they STILL have some of the toys I played on when I was little. Shea had fun, but I think Julian loved it even more- he is a year old and played with the baby goats and would have touched everything if he could. MY favorite part was probably the cute bobcats- you can't pet them though, obviously.
Now it is time for a quiet evening at home .... I am thinking I don't get to see fireworks this year. :( *sigh* Happy 4th of July!!!
