20 Weeks- Halfway There :)

I can not believe I am already at 20 weeks- all I have to say is that Thank God this pregnancy stuff has gotten easier!!! That first Trimester was not looking good, but now everything is so great. I realize that everyone who says how pregnancy is so beautiful, and how they feel so amazing creating a life, and they would love to be pregnant again- ALL of them forgot about the first trimester and THIS is what they were talking about. I felt so bad when I didn't think that pregnancy was beautiful or amazing... now I realize the first trimester is neither of those it is gross and awful and it takes till the end to figure out that it is okay to take stool softeners because everyone needs to poop.

WELL ... what about my baby!? This week Baby is the size of a Cantaloupe!!! After 20 weeks Baby is stretching his legs out so now measurements aren't from crown to rump BUT they are head to heel. For the last crown to rump he is at 6 1/2 inches and from head to heel he is at 10 inches! They say at 20 week Baby will weight 10 1/2 ounces... which means that since last week he grew 2 ounces. Well MY little man weighed in at 11 ounces on Tuesday sooo I will continue to report what babycenter says but keep in mind i could have one massive chunk of baby in me.

He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper. It is nice he is already preparing that first diaper for me!

As for me I am doing great- I have definitely gotten that second trimester energy boost, which is helping motivate me to get things cleaned up and organized so I can start putting my Baby's world together. I have lots of big plans for our room, but for now I am just cleaning and making room for change.

This week has been amazing- not only finding out that I am having a boy, but hearing from so many family members, current friends, and old friends. This has been such a rough situation and the eternally optimistic person I am knows that things will fall into place... now I just realize that there isn't just one good way for things to fall into place. Having my family with me during the sonogram and having so many people take time to send their best wishes has made me realize that no matter what happens this little guy has so many people around who are going to love him and that is all that matters. <333

And lastly Happy 9 Months to Baby Shea! :) She is such a big girl now and growing up so fast- I love it!!
