Automobile Preparation

Today I decided to do what was needed to tackle the awful condition of my car. It didn't just need to be vacuumed and wiped down but there were what I called "mystery spots" which were probably soda of some sort and then dirt and other particles which stuck and then with the heat became ... a problem. Then there was the side mirror which had come off, stickers which were only partially left on the car, and the trunk.... oh the trunk. I paid my sister Laura to get the initial level of yuck off the car- then my dad and I took care of the major problems. This whole thing took from 11am-4pm.

The trunk was kept sturdy by a piece of cardboard that laid across the bottom with carpet over it- under it was the spare tire and all the mechanical devices for changing a tire. Well many many years ago AAA had changed my tire and then just thrown the huge regular size tire on TOP of the cardboard, which broke it. Then came the kitty litter.. and that got wet some how.. whatever made that wet made other things wet.. which caused rust and who knows what else. I don't need to make it more clear that it was DISGUSTING-- we cleared it out scrapped and vacuumed, and then hosed out the bottom, deep cleaned the carpet, and got a new piece of cardboard. After it was cleaned everything was put in place and now I have a HUGE trunk that I can put a diaper bag in and have it be clean and safe. If my son wanted to roll around all inside the car AND trunk he could and it would be clean and safe.

This car was a serious problem in the world of becoming a mother and now it is so looking great! Other than sanitary concerns- my dad also filled the fluids, checked the oil, checked the tire pressure, and I am going to get new brake pads this week. My Dad took care of all the real problems- even my mirror is back on! Pretty great!

Bad News- I got a seriously awful sunburn, not because I don't understand summer, sun, and sunscreen. I just didn't mean to be outside that long. I didn't get to update for 22 weeks, because our Internet was down all weekend so just know Baby is doing amazing baby things! I have a doctors appointment next Tuesday afternoon with ANOTHER sonogram. Super excited to see my little man again!
