Sonogram #6

Yesterday was my sixth sonogram. They were checking to see how big Sawyer is and the levels of amniotic fluid. At this point he is big enough that the sonogram is like a blur of body parts taking up most of the screen. Though we did get some cute moments of his face- he had his arms covering it but was pushing them together and opening up and then trying to get his hand/hands in his mouth. They checked all his organs and they are all still perfectly functioning. The amniotic fluid is within the "ok" area, she said it is a little high but not high enough for major concern. Then came the final check which was his weight. "Little" Sawyer is at 6 lbs. which means he gained 1 1/2 lbs in 3 weeks. I can't believe I have a 6 lbs Baby in my belly.. though when he is stretching and moving around it makes a lot of sense. Of course after all the checks I did not actually see the Doctor, I won't hear from her till my appointment next Wednesday, but I assume that if there was anything that needed to be addressed at that moment she would have made sure it was addressed.

Now if Sawyer is to continue growing at the same rate he has been growing (about 8 ounces a week) and isn't born till his due date then he will be 9lbs when he is born. Of course that would be too easy and the chances of him not growing faster as it gets closer are slim. So I just need to stop trying to predict things and focus on ..... watching tv and waiting :)
